Storage Architect – Full‑time (Kansas City)

About the role

Garmin is looking for a full‑time Storage Architect to join its U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. In this position you will lead the design, performance analysis, and evolution of storage systems that support critical business applications.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and design system architecture for new and existing storage solutions.
• Analyze system performance, identify bottlenecks, and recommend improvements.
• Assess future business growth impacts and provide scalable, cost‑effective architecture recommendations.
• Research emerging storage technologies and lead technology assessments.
• Define load‑testing requirements, participate in testing, and determine capacity for growth.
• Create and maintain architecture artifacts and documentation.
• Gather complex business requirements and translate them into robust storage designs.
• Produce project documentation, including statements of work, implementation and deployment plans, and training materials.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Proven experience designing and optimizing enterprise storage architectures.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to diagnose performance issues.
• Excellent communication skills to convey architectural concepts across multiple teams.
