APP Hospitalist - Oncology (Westside)

About the role

Oncology Consultants is hiring a full-time APP Hospitalist for its oncology practice in the Westside area. The role covers inpatient support, patient assessment, documentation and communication within the oncology setting.

Key responsibilities

• Inpatient support: conduct hospital rounds, assist with admissions and discharges, and provide on-call support.
• Assessment: perform and obtain comprehensive or problem-focused physical examinations and medical histories, order, collect, interpret and evaluate laboratory and other diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, recommend other treatments and refer patients when needed.
• Documentation: counsel patients on their conditions and treatment plans, maintain accurate records of treatment plans and outcomes, initiate timely consultations and referrals outside the scope of practice, and capture charges promptly.
• Communication: work effectively with admitting and referring teams, triage and respond to communications in a timely way, and carry out other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician's Assistant program with a Master's degree.
• APRN or PA license in the appropriate state, prescriptive privileges or eligibility to apply, and current board certification.
• Current BLS certification.
• At least 5 years of experience as an APRN or PA, with oncology experience required.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-site environment and to work remotely when required.
