Single Physician Advanced Practice Provider (Oncology)

About the role

Oncology Consultants is hiring a single physician advanced practice provider (APRN or PA) to assist the physician in the care and teaching of patients. The position is based in Memorial City and offers a pay range of $92,500 to $152,875.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients' physical and psychosocial status through interviews, health history, physical examination and diagnostic studies.
• Write prescriptions for medications and blood products according to written practice protocols, and interpret study and test results.
• Determine patient eligibility for clinical trials and relay patient care information to the collaborating physician.
• Administer therapeutic measures, obtain specimens, triage patients and document care accurately and on time.
• Dictate follow-up letters, patient histories, admissions, progress and discharge notes, and take part in daily multidisciplinary rounds.
• Provide on-call coverage and hospital rounds, and assist staff in crises or emergencies.
• Market cancer treatment to the public, train new employees and comply with federal and state laws, including HIPAA.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program with a Master's degree.
• APRN or PA license in the appropriate state, prescriptive privileges or eligibility to apply, and current ANCC or ONS (AOCN-P) certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS).
• At least 5 years of experience as an APRN or PA, specifically in oncology.
• Willingness to work at any company location and to work overtime when given sufficient notice.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Critical thinking, problem solving, decision making and time management.
• Good command of English; second language is an asset.
