AmeriCorps Member - Volunteer Program Support

About the role

City Relief is seeking a full‑time AmeriCorps Service Member to strengthen the systems, communication, and community that support its volunteer program. The role blends hands‑on outreach with recruitment, scheduling, resource development, and program‑improvement projects.

Key responsibilities

• Support volunteer onboarding, check‑in, orientation, scheduling, and engagement at outreach sites.
• Build relationships with volunteers to create a welcoming and consistent service experience.
• Learn and use City Relief’s volunteer management system, VOMO, and identify ways to streamline processes.
• Assist with volunteer recruitment through community events, colleges, digital outreach, and partner communications.
• Review volunteer feedback and help improve training and onboarding resources.
• Coordinate volunteer appreciation communications and special initiatives.
• Contribute to the development and revision of the General Volunteer Handbook and other sustainable program resources.

• Collaborative, adaptable, and comfortable learning new digital tools.
• Willing to participate in hands‑on outdoor outreach in varying weather conditions.
