Air Operations Specialist

About the role

Havoc AI’s Mission Operations (MOPS) team works directly with military customers to field autonomous drone systems in real‑world environments. The Air Operations Specialist is the on‑ground expert who plans, executes, and supports these operations, acting as the critical link between cutting‑edge technology and end‑users.

Key responsibilities

• Deploy to live events and exercises, operating small UAS systems and integrating with military units to ensure mission success.
• Plan, coordinate, and brief drone operations for both internal stakeholders and senior military leadership.
• Provide real‑world operator feedback during hardware and software test events and customer demonstrations.
• Serve as the trusted interface with military customers, translating operational needs into actionable inputs for Mission Operations and Product teams.
• Identify operational gaps, surface issues, and help refine tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) for autonomous systems.
• Collaborate across the MOPS team, contributing wherever needed while maintaining a team‑first mindset.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with military drone systems and operational employment tactics.
• Proven ability to plan and brief complex operations.
• Personal passion for small UAS, demonstrated through recreational flying, building, modifying, or active involvement in the drone community.

Required skills

• Experience with open‑source autopilot systems such as ArduPilot.
• Experience with open‑source autopilot systems such as PX4.
