AI Research Scientist

About the role

Cogent Research, the applied AI lab at Cogent Security, is looking for an AI Research Scientist to lead foundational and applied research at the intersection of automated reasoning and AI‑driven code analysis. The role combines rigorous scientific inquiry with direct impact on real‑world security workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Drive original research in automated reasoning, code analysis, and AI‑driven security, from hypothesis formulation to publication‑ready results.
• Invent and apply novel AI techniques to code reasoning and generation challenges, advancing the state of the art.
• Develop research artifacts, tools, or systems that are deployed within Cogent’s AI platform and shared with the broader community.
• Design and execute automated testing and fuzzing strategies to validate research prototypes.
• Publish findings at top‑tier conferences and peer‑reviewed journals, and collaborate with engineering teams to integrate research outcomes.

Required profile

• Deep hands‑on expertise in automated reasoning, including static/dynamic analysis, formal verification, and automated testing/fuzzing.
• Proven track record of high‑impact publications or widely‑adopted open‑source artifacts.
• Self‑directed, proactive attitude with the ability to identify problems and drive solutions to completion.
• Strong passion for improving infrastructure security and aligning with Cogent’s mission.
