AHA Program Instructor PRN NE

About the role

The AHA Program Instructor supports the Resuscitation Simulation Department by coordinating classroom delivery of American Heart Association courses. This PRN position works three shifts per month, ensuring courses meet AHA and Cleveland Clinic standards.

Key responsibilities

• Reserve and organize classrooms and equipment for scheduled classes.
• Ensure instructors, equipment, classroom instruction and student ratios comply with AHA and Cleveland Clinic standards.
• Apply adult learning techniques and adapt training materials.
• Prepare and modify lesson plans based on AHA curriculum using competency‑based education.
• Deliver instruction interactively, encouraging frequent participant responses.
• Select and use audiovisual hardware and software to reinforce learning.
• Evaluate and document trainee performance using program‑approved formats.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree or equivalent licensure education.
• Current state licensure as RN, RRT, EMTP or MD.
• ACLS and/or PALS certification from AHA or American Red Cross.
• Minimum four years experience as BLS, ACLS and/or PALS provider.
• Strong delegation, planning, organizational and teaching skills.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree and two years experience as an AHA instructor.
