About the role
The OST Division of the Department of Parks and Recreation is seeking an entry‑level, seasonal After School Counselor to support recreational programs for youth. This role assists senior staff in delivering safe, engaging, and well‑organized activities for children after school hours.
Key responsibilities
- Assist senior staff with daily program operations and participant supervision.
- Set up and break down equipment such as balls, bats, and other activity supplies.
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and report any infractions or hazards.
- Help with participant counts, field trips, and special events as needed.
- Perform related duties required to ensure smooth program delivery.
Required profile
- Must meet New Hampshire work‑permit requirements.
- Completed at least 9th grade and currently enrolled in high school or equivalent.
- Minimum age of 15 years.
- Enjoy working with youth and being outdoors.
- Ability to follow directions from senior staff.
Required skills
- Current CPR/First Aid certification from an approved agency.
- Comfortable in water with the ability to swim.
