Advanced Software Engineer – Federal Reserve Financial Services

About the role

The Federal Reserve Financial Services team is seeking an advanced software engineer to design, develop, and support critical payment systems and services. This onsite position in Atlanta offers the chance to work on high‑impact applications that serve financial institutions nationwide.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, configure, and optimize software solutions for applications, databases, test automation tools, DevOps processes, and COTS products.
• Perform peer reviews, provide on‑call support, troubleshoot incidents, and manage service requests for supported environments.
• Partner with customers to develop innovative solutions and translate business and technical requirements into effective implementations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field or equivalent experience.
• At least ten years of experience in software development or test automation.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, coach less‑experienced staff, and serve as a technical knowledge resource.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Java (Java 8+) and the Spring ecosystem (Spring Boot, MVC, Integration, Security).
• Experience with front‑end technologies such as Angular (latest), TypeScript, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3, and JSF (PrimeFaces).
• Knowledge of containerization (OpenShift, Docker, Kubernetes) and middleware (WebSphere Application Server, Liberty, MQ).
• Familiarity with NgRx, RxJS, and frontend application security (tokens, headers, policies).
• Strong SQL skills and exposure to C# or Python is a plus.
