Advanced Practice Registered Nurse – Vascular Surgery (Full‑Time)

About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Surgery: Vascular is seeking an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) to provide autonomous patient care in a surgical setting. This full‑time position involves comprehensive assessments, prescribing, and coordination of treatment plans for vascular surgery patients.

Key responsibilities

• Perform and document complete physical examinations and detailed health histories.
• Order, interpret, and act on diagnostic and therapeutic tests appropriate to patient age and condition.
• Prescribe pharmacologic and non‑pharmacologic treatments, including lifestyle modifications.
• Initiate admissions, orders, and discharges, and manage patient transitions across care settings.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, make referrals, and provide patient and family education.
• Document all activities in the EMR system (Epic, UChart, Care, Meditech).

Required profile

• Current RN licensure with APRN certification.
• Experience in vascular or surgical nursing preferred.
• Ability to work independently and make clinical decisions.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and facility regulations.
