Advanced Practice Provider – Trauma Services III

About the role

The Cleveland Clinic Digestive Disease Institute seeks a full‑time Advanced Practice Provider (NP, PA, or CNS) to join Trauma Services on the Main Campus. You will care for injured patients of all ages in a Level 1 Trauma Center, working across inpatient, ICU, Emergency Department and operating rooms.

Key responsibilities

• Round on ICU/RNF patients and respond to trauma activations in the ED.
• Perform advanced procedures such as central and arterial line placement, chest tube insertion, intubation, wound repair, and assist in the OR.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop treatment plans, prescribe medications as permitted, and ensure continuity of care.

Required profile

• Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (RN license required) or Physician Assistant in the applicable state.
• National certification (NP or PA) and required life‑support certifications: BLS, ACLS, ATLS (mandatory); PALS (preferred).
• Acute Care certification preferred; experience in trauma, critical care, surgical services, or emergency medicine is desired, though new graduates with relevant experience will be considered.

Required skills

• Proficiency in performing central line, arterial line, chest tube placement, intubation, and wound repair.
• Ability to conduct comprehensive histories, physical exams, and order/interpret diagnostic tests.
• Knowledge of medication prescribing within scope of practice and state regulations.
