Advanced Practice Provider – Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Night Shift

About the role

The Cleveland Clinic Health System seeks an Advanced Practice Provider (FNP, PNP or PA) to deliver high‑acuity inpatient care for pediatric hematology/oncology patients during night shifts. This full‑time position works on the Main Campus and collaborates closely with physicians.

Key responsibilities

• Obtain comprehensive histories, perform physical exams, order and interpret labs, imaging and other diagnostics.
• Perform procedural skills such as bone marrow aspiration, biopsies, IV starts, spinal taps, thoracentesis, paracentesis, injections, suturing and wound care.
• Prescribe and monitor medications within state and Cleveland Clinic credentialing guidelines.
• Educate patients and families about disease, treatment plans, medication side effects and preventive health.
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, discharge planning and quality monitoring.

Required profile

• Current licensure as an APRN (FNP/PNP) or PA in Ohio with national certification.
• Graduate of an accredited APRN or PA program; MSN required for APRNs within three years of hire.
• Ability to work independently with a collaborating physician and follow Cleveland Clinic credentialing policies.
• Commitment to ethical, compassionate patient care and willingness to take call and occasional weekend/holiday work.

Required skills

• Bone marrow aspiration and biopsy techniques.
• IV insertion, spinal tap, thoracentesis, paracentesis.
• Injection administration, immunotherapy, suturing and wound care.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
