Adult Protective Services Case Manager 2

About the role

The Georgia Department of Human Services, Division of Aging Services, Adult Protective Services is hiring an Adult Protective Services Case Manager 2 to serve Cleveland and the surrounding counties of Dawson, Forsyth, Habersham, Lumpkin, Rabun, Towns, and Union.

Key responsibilities

• Perform initial investigations of protective service reports that meet APS criteria and determine appropriate intervention promptly.
• Evaluate client risk levels and take actions to ensure safety, including follow‑up consultations and resource referrals.
• Initiate legal guardianship processes as a last resort for incapacitated adults.
• Maintain required documentation and complete reports within established timelines.
• Stay current on policies, laws, and trends through training and meetings.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, or one year of experience at a lower‑level APS Case Manager (CM‑1) or equivalent.
• Demonstrated ability to provide courteous, accessible service, work collaboratively across departments, and uphold ethical standards and public trust.
