Adult Protective Services Case Manager 2

About the role

The Georgia Department of Human Services is seeking an Adult Protective Services (APS) Case Manager 2 to serve residents of Cleveland and surrounding counties. In this position you will protect vulnerable adults by investigating reports of abuse, neglect, or exploitation and coordinating appropriate interventions.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct initial investigations of protective service reports that meet APS criteria and determine the need for intervention.
• Assess the level of risk to each client and take timely actions to ensure safety.
• Provide follow‑up, consultations, and resources to stabilize situations and prevent recurrence of abuse.
• Initiate legal processes for guardianship when necessary, as a last resort.
• Maintain accurate documentation and submit reports within established timeframes.
• Stay current on policies, laws, and best practices through training and meetings.
• Travel throughout the assigned counties to meet clients and service providers.

Required profile

• Ability to deliver personal support services and crisis intervention under general supervision.
• Experience evaluating, investigating, and resolving complaints related to adult protection.
• Strong liaison skills to coordinate between clients and service providers.
• Knowledge of APS criteria, relevant state statutes, and risk‑assessment procedures.
• Willingness to travel across multiple counties as needed.
