Adult Education Student Services Assistant (Part‑Time)

About the role

The Adult Education Student Services Assistant provides essential support to adult learners at the Polk County Campus of Georgia Northwestern Technical College. This part‑time, on‑site position assists with student orientation, registration, assessment, and day‑to‑day administrative tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Provide orientation, registration, and assessment support for new adult education students.
• Verify student information and documentation, and maintain accurate student files.
• Proctor assessments and assist instructors with student retention, progress tracking, and attendance outreach.
• Perform clerical duties such as answering phones, reviewing student data in GALIS, and printing reports.
• Request and maintain classroom and office supplies, equipment, and materials.
• Assist instructors in the classroom as needed and perform other assigned duties.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of work‑related experience.
• Ability to become a notary.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of adult education policies.
• Ability to assist students individually or in groups.
• Ability to maintain accurate records.
• Ability to operate office equipment such as copiers, scanners, and shredders.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
• Experience using the GALIS student information system.

• Part‑time schedule: Monday‑Thursday, 8:30 am‑1:15 pm (19 hours per week).
