About the role
The Windgate Artist in Residence will join the Windgate Center of Art + Design at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock for the Fall 2027 semester. This fixed‑term appointment combines studio practice with teaching and community engagement.
Key responsibilities
- Create new artwork in the provided studio or shared studio spaces.
- Maintain weekly open‑studio hours for students and visitors.
- Conduct studio visits to student workspaces and provide feedback.
- Participate in in‑class activities organized by faculty.
- Attend welcome and farewell receptions for the university community.
- Donate one work of art to the UA Little Rock Art Collection.
Required profile
- Professional artist with an active practice and a record of exhibition or project work.
- Ability to work independently in a studio environment.
- Willingness to engage with undergraduate and graduate students.
- Commitment to contributing to the cultural life of the campus.
