Adjunct Instructor – Welding and Joining

About the role

West Georgia Technical College seeks an Adjunct Instructor to teach Welding and Joining Technology. The role involves delivering theory and hands‑on lab instruction to post‑secondary students and corporate learners. Classes are offered in face‑to‑face, blended and mobile lab formats.

Key responsibilities

• Provide instruction in the theory and practical applications of Welding and Joining Technology.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of industry trends and developments.
• Conduct classroom and lab sessions that closely simulate industry environments.
• Prepare customized training plans for corporate or community customers.
• Assess student progress and grade coursework in a timely manner.
• Ensure safety compliance and proper equipment maintenance.
• Attend professional development training as required.
• Work flexible hours, including mornings, afternoons, or evenings.

Required profile

• Diploma in Welding and Joining Technology or related field from an accredited institution.
• At least three years of recent welding and joining experience (within the past seven years).
• Ability to pass the AWS welding test (additional pipe welding test may be required).
• Valid driver’s license.
• Preferred: 5+ years of experience, AWS certifications, and post‑secondary teaching experience.

Required skills
