Adjunct - Adult Education GED Instructor

About the role

The Adjunct Adult Education GED Instructor provides literacy and basic academic instruction to adult learners, focusing on reading, writing, English and high‑school level math, potentially leading to a GED.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver literacy instruction to adult students in reading, writing, English and high‑school level math.
• Maintain accurate records, grade books, reports and assist with student recruitment and retention.
• Teach traditional day/evening or online classes and travel within the college’s service area as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution.
• Experience teaching adult low‑level learners or in a post‑secondary setting (preferred).
• Documented background in math and experience teaching high‑school level math (preferred).

Required skills

• Adult literacy instruction techniques.
• Classroom management and record‑keeping.
• Use of appropriate testing and grading procedures.

What we offer

• Hourly gross salary range in the $20’s, determined by the highest qualifying degree.
• Adjunct position is a temporary, term‑limited appointment (no eligibility for retirement benefits, state insurance, leave or holiday pay).
