About the role
The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities is seeking an Activity Therapist Supervisor to lead therapeutic recreation programs at Central State Hospital. This full‑time, day‑shift position involves supervising staff and coordinating a variety of therapeutic activities.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise, guide, and instruct subordinate staff in daily work assignments.
- Plan, direct, and coordinate therapeutic recreation programs such as sports, gardening, dramatics, music, social activities, and arts & crafts.
- Conduct assessments of clients’ conditions and recommend appropriate recreational activities.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in therapeutic recreation or a related therapeutic discipline from an accredited institution.
- Three years of relevant experience, including at least one year in a lead, team‑leader, or supervisory role, or equivalent experience as an Activity Therapist 3.
