Activity Assistant

About the role

The Activity Assistant supports the Activity Director in creating a vibrant, engaging environment for residents at Ivy at Hawaii Kai. This full‑time position helps plan, promote, and facilitate a variety of social, educational, and recreational activities that enhance independence and quality of life.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Activity Director in delivering high‑quality activities, excursions, special events, guest speakers, movie showings, exercise sessions, clubs, games, art projects, and educational classes.
• Recruit, manage, and schedule community volunteers as needed.
• Communicate courteously with residents, families, visitors, co‑workers, and supervisors.
• Maintain a safe environment for staff, residents, and guests, adhering to established safety standards.
• Operate community vehicles safely, holding the required driver’s license.
• Promote teamwork through cooperative interactions with co‑workers and other departments.

Required profile

• At least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferably one year of experience coordinating or teaching activities for seniors.
• Current Class C driver’s license (Class B or Class C with passenger endorsement preferred).
• Proficiency with a personal computer and Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check and health screening, including physical and TB tests.
• Compliance with vaccination, daily screening, and face‑covering policies as required.
