Accounting Manager – AP/AR

About the role

Soules Foods, a family‑owned national producer of ready‑to‑eat chicken and beef products, is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead its Accounts Payable and Receivable functions in Tyler, Texas. The role oversees full‑cycle accounting, ensures accurate vendor payments, timely customer collections, and supports month‑end close.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise AP and AR teams, handling invoice processing, vendor relations, payments, cash application, and collections.
• Prepare AP and AR accruals for month‑end, manage customer credit limits, and reconcile financial records.
• Implement process improvements, maintain compliance with GAAP, and support internal and external audits.
• Set performance goals, manage department workload, and provide training and mentorship to staff.
• Maintain accurate usage of the full account structure and ensure efficient cash‑flow management.

Required profile

• 7‑10 years of AP/AR experience.
• 3‑5 years of supervisory or management experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred; progressive AP/AR experience acceptable.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
• Proven conflict resolution and incident‑handling skills, with experience in training and mentoring staff.

Required skills

• ERP proficiency – Infor M3 (a plus).
• Experience with AP workflow software (a plus).
• Knowledge of GAAP.
