Accounting II - Bank Accounting

About the role

This role sits within Boston Scientific's Global Business Services organization and delivers accountancy expertise and services to client businesses. It covers low to medium complexity bank accounting tasks such as analyzing accounts, booking journal entries, preparing reports, managing software interfaces and running the monthly financial close. Performance is measured against KPIs and metrics, and the role continuously seeks ways to improve and streamline processes.

Key responsibilities

• Compile and analyze bank financial information through reports and general ledger journal entries.
• Assist in the monthly, quarterly and annual financial close, ensuring accuracy and complete supporting documentation.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of SOX controls, GAAP and new accounting guidance, and communicate accounting processes.
• Partner with E&Y and the SOX management team to fulfill audit requests.
• Implement and maintain internal controls and ensure adherence to internal policies and best practices.
• Seek opportunities to improve and standardize processes across multiple legal entities.
• Deliver on agreed KPIs and service levels, and mentor junior accountants.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in accounting.
• English level of 95% or higher.
• 2+ years of relevant experience; bank accounting experience is a plus.
• Open to working across global time zones, able to work independently and in a team.

Required skills

• SAP and S/4HANA experience is a plus.
• Strong Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint skills.
• Strong communication and customer relationship skills with a service orientation.
• Attention to detail, data accuracy and organization.
