Accountant III – General Accounting (Hybrid)

About the role

Boston Scientific is seeking an Accountant III to join its Global Business Services organization. The role provides high‑quality accounting expertise, handling moderately complex general and corporate accounting activities in a hybrid work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain balance‑sheet accounts and prepare monthly and annual accounting reports.
• Implement, maintain, and improve internal controls, ensuring SOX compliance.
• Review and approve account reconciliations and journal entries.
• Oversee month‑end close activities and ensure timely execution of accounting processes.
• Coordinate with external auditors and the SOX management team for audit requests.
• Identify and drive continuous‑improvement opportunities across multiple entities.
• Collaborate with local sites and internal groups to align changes and improvements.
• Provide accurate information to internal and external partners, handling urgent and ad‑hoc requests.
• Lead or support finance and accounting projects, including system implementations and policy updates.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of relevant accounting experience; shared‑services experience preferred.
• Upper‑intermediate English proficiency (B2) with strong written and verbal communication.
• Strong knowledge of general accounting principles; lease accounting knowledge is a plus.

Required skills

• SAP ECC (experience with SAP accounting modules).
