Accountant – Development Finance (Fort Worth or Scottsdale)

About the role

Discovery Land Company is seeking a full‑time Accountant to support its Development finance function at the Maverick Golf and Ranch Club near Fort Worth, TX or at the corporate office in Scottsdale, AZ. The role will handle month‑end close, reconciliations and audit preparation for land‑development projects, working closely with the Development Controller and corporate finance team.

Key responsibilities

• Execute month‑end close activities including journal entries, accruals and account reconciliations.
• Prepare schedules and documentation for annual external audits and internal reviews.
• Support internal control processes and ensure policy adherence.
• Collaborate with project leadership and cross‑functional teams to resolve accounting issues.
• Assist with special projects and ad‑hoc reporting as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• Minimum three years of experience in construction, land or real‑estate development accounting.
• Strong analytical mindset with high attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends when required.

Required skills

• Sage Intacct (preferred).
• Intermediate Excel (functions, lookups, multi‑sheet workbooks).
