About the role
We are seeking an Academic Advisor II to engage and empower undergraduate students in achieving their academic and career goals. The advisor will play a key role in improving student retention by building relationships, clarifying program requirements, and guiding course planning.
Key responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive academic advising, including registration, add/drop, curriculum changes, and degree planning, while reviewing student records and offering guidance on course selection.
- Deliver student‑success and retention initiatives through proactive outreach, monitoring academic progress, referring students to campus resources, and organizing advising events and campaigns.
- Support the advising team by training new staff and student workers and participating in professional development activities.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree and at least two years of academic advising or related experience.
- Knowledge of NACADA core values, academic advising models, curriculum requirements, and campus support services.
- Ability to counsel students on academic planning, identify high‑risk indicators, and use advising technologies to generate reports and track outcomes.
