Yard Technician

About the role

OEG is seeking a Yard Technician to support its Cargo Logistics Division in Port Fourchon, Louisiana. The role focuses on maintaining the rental fleet of cargo carrying units (CCUs), tanks, and related equipment, ensuring they are clean, certified, and ready for shipment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform scheduled assembly, inspection, and repair of rental equipment in a safe and organized manner.
• Verify that all equipment is cleaned, maintained, and certified before shipment.
• Support compliance technicians with visual inspections and basic maintenance of CCUs, tanks, and other fleet items.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and provide technical support to management and customers.
• Conduct regular inventory checks and record incoming products from vendors and rental returns.
• Prepare products for shipment, including final inspections, packaging, and loading onto trucks.
• Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material‑moving equipment safely.
• Assist with loading and unloading of equipment, ensuring proper securing methods.
• Train other technicians on product features and proper use.
• Maintain a clean work area, return tools to storage, and perform daily housekeeping.
• Report damaged equipment, malfunctions, or unsafe conditions promptly.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving initiative.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and service manuals.
• Commitment to safety procedures, PPE use, and participation in safety meetings.
• Willingness to provide feedback on process, efficiency, and safety improvements.
