VP of Engineering

About the role

Rain, the global stablecoin payments platform, is seeking a VP of Engineering to own the technical vision and execution for its rapidly scaling infrastructure. You will lead a senior, high‑performing team of ~50 engineers, driving architecture, quality, and delivery across card issuing, wallets, ledgers, and on‑chain settlement.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the multi‑year engineering roadmap for core payment and settlement systems.
• Set and enforce rigorous quality standards: system design, code review, testing, observability, and documentation.
• Lead design reviews, incident retrospectives, and technical debates to ensure reliability for money‑moving services.
• Partner with Product, Risk, and Compliance to align technical decisions with business and regulatory requirements.
• Mentor engineering managers, tech leads, and senior engineers, fostering a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading large‑scale engineering organizations in fintech or related high‑risk domains.
• Hands‑on technical depth; comfortable diving into code and architecture.
• Strong track record of building reliable, high‑throughput systems that handle real money.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with cross‑functional partners.
