Vice President, Training & Development

About the role

Redwood Credit Union seeks a Vice President of Training & Development to lead its Educational Development team. This senior leader will shape learning strategies that support a high‑performance culture, empower employees, and align talent growth with the credit union’s mission and vision.

Key responsibilities

• Design, execute, and continuously improve employee training, leadership development, and professional growth programs.
• Advise senior leadership on new initiatives, regulatory impacts, and talent strategies to attract, motivate, and retain top talent.
• Integrate development plans into long‑term business strategy and participate in strategic planning sessions.
• Set clear goals for the Educational Development team, manage performance, and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
• Develop and track metrics that demonstrate the impact of training on productivity and organizational performance.
• Manage the department budget, negotiate contracts with external vendors, and ensure cost‑effective delivery of high‑quality programs.
• Lead continuous‑improvement efforts to keep training programs current with business needs and industry standards.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in learning, development, or organizational development within a financial services or similar environment.
• Strong strategic thinking with a track record of aligning talent initiatives to business goals.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills to partner with executive teams and external stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, vendor relationships, and cross‑functional projects.
