Training Instructor – Nuclear & Non‑Nuclear Personnel

About the role

The Department of the Navy seeks a Training Instructor to deliver, qualify and certify civilian, military and contractor personnel performing nuclear and non‑nuclear work. This position provides technical guidance and ensures compliance with policies, regulations and safety requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Instruct, qualify and certify personnel on nuclear and non‑nuclear tasks.
• Interpret and apply specialized policies, regulations and requirements.
• Develop, maintain, update and review training courses, instructional materials and references.
• Coordinate radiological control medical qualifications and schedule related appointments.
• Travel to CONUS and OCONUS sites, including remote or isolated locations, and wear required personal protective equipment.
• Perform work in environments with hazardous physical and chemical agents.

Required profile

• U.S. citizen and suitable for federal employment.
• Ability to obtain and maintain the required security clearance.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, holidays and overtime as mission needs dictate.
• Physical ability to lift up to 40 lb and wear PPE continuously when required.
• Eligibility to register for Selective Service (males born after 12‑31‑1959).
• At least one year of specialized experience at the GS‑09 level, including curriculum analysis and classroom instruction.
