Telecom Expense Analyst

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a Telecom Expense Analyst to manage and optimise the company’s telecom spend across voice, data, wireless and network services. The analyst will work closely with finance, procurement and network teams to ensure accurate billing, contract compliance and cost‑efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Process and validate telecom invoices for accuracy, identifying discrepancies, overcharges and contract compliance issues.
• Maintain telecom inventory records, including circuits, wireless devices and associated services.
• Support monthly accruals, forecasting and budget tracking for telecom expenses.
• Collaborate with carriers and vendors to resolve billing disputes and service issues.
• Review and reconcile telecom contracts, pricing schedules and renewals.
• Conduct circuit disconnect validation, service audits and optimisation initiatives to reduce costs.
• Generate reporting and analytics on telecom spend, trends and utilisation for senior leadership.

Required skills

• Experience with Telecom Expense Management (TEM) platforms and invoice management systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas, data analysis).
• Knowledge of telecom services such as MPLS, DIA, Ethernet, SIP, POTS, wireless and cloud connectivity.
• Understanding of carrier billing structures, contract terminology and telecom inventory management.
• Familiarity with purchase orders, invoicing workflows and financial reconciliation processes.
