Technical Advisor II – REACH Malaria

About the role

Catholic Relief Services (CRS) is seeking a Technical Advisor II to support the USG‑funded REACH Malaria project. Working remotely, you will provide expert malaria technical advice to country program teams, helping them design and implement high‑quality malaria services for vulnerable populations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement agency‑wide malaria strategies, standards, tools, and best practices, ensuring integration of gender, protection, and disaster risk reduction.
• Provide technical solutions and guidance to REACH Malaria teams for strategic planning, program design, implementation, and monitoring & evaluation.
• Serve as the primary technical backstop for multiple countries where CRS leads activities in partnership with PATH.
• Maintain up‑to‑date technical knowledge on malaria and scale‑up best‑practice interventions.
• Strengthen capacity of staff and partners through training, workshops, mentoring, and curriculum development.
• Collect, analyze, and share program data, lessons learned, and research to support knowledge management.
• Build and maintain relationships with donors, national malaria programs, peer organizations, and research institutions.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in malaria program design, implementation, and technical assistance.
• Strong understanding of malaria case management, prevention in pregnancy, seasonal malaria chemoprevention, and health‑systems strengthening.
• Proven ability to work remotely with diverse country teams and partners.
• Experience in capacity‑building, training delivery, and mentorship.
• Excellent analytical skills for data‑driven decision‑making and knowledge sharing.
