Systems Test and Integration Engineer

About the role

The Systems Test and Integration Engineer will be a key player in the vehicle development lifecycle, bridging hardware and software across Rivian and Volkswagen Group future vehicles. You will integrate, validate, and bring‑up software for zonal architectures from early prototypes through to customer launch, working across battery management, body controls, vehicle dynamics and thermal domains.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute test plans for new software features and improvements.
• Own end‑to‑end software bring‑up for your domain, from prototype to launch.
• Define and run integration activities for new features and diagnose field issues.
• Debug and perform root‑cause analysis on system‑level integration problems spanning multiple ECUs.
• Collaborate with architecture, platform and application teams to resolve software dependencies and drive automation pipelines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Software Engineering.
• 3+ years of experience with control systems, preferably in automotive or aerospace.
• Hands‑on experience with communication‑bus monitoring and software calibration tools.
• Strong understanding of electromechanical systems and EV subsystems such as battery management and vehicle dynamics.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• C/C++ programming.
• Vector CANalyzer or equivalent CAN bus monitoring tools.
• Vector CANape or equivalent software calibration tools.
• Experience with CAN and Ethernet communication protocols.
