Systems Administrator

About the role

MasTec Communications Group is seeking a proactive Linux Systems Administrator to maintain, secure, and optimize its RHEL‑based infrastructure. The role involves supporting both physical and virtual environments while ensuring reliable performance and connectivity across the network.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems on physical and virtual platforms.
• Administer VMware ESXi hosts and vSphere environments.
• Develop and maintain automation workflows using Ansible, Bash, and Python.
• Automate network tasks with Ansible, Python, NETCONF/YANG, and CLI scripting.
• Create scripts and use APIs to integrate systems and generate actionable data.
• Monitor system performance, apply patches, and ensure high availability.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues promptly.
• Implement and enforce security policies and maintain comprehensive documentation.
• Configure and maintain BIND DNS and KEA DHCP services.
• Participate in on‑call rotation and respond to incidents.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Linux System Administrator, preferably with RHEL.
• Hands‑on experience with VMware ESXi and vSphere.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, firewalls).
• Strong problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
