Surgical Technician PRN – TOSH OR

About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences is seeking a PRN Surgical Technician to support the TOSH Operating Room. This temporary, as‑needed position provides critical assistance to surgical teams, ensuring instruments and equipment are prepared, sterile, and available throughout procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and organize surgical instruments, trays, and equipment for each case.
• Maintain strict sterile technique and infection‑control standards.
• Assist surgeons and nurses by passing instruments and supplies during operations.
• Perform instrument decontamination, cleaning, and inventory management.
• Document instrument usage and report any equipment issues.

Required profile

• Current certification or training as a Surgical Technician or equivalent.
• Ability to work flexible shifts on an as‑needed basis.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
• Commitment to patient safety and teamwork in a fast‑paced environment.
