Staff Software Engineer – Backend

About the role

At Coco, we’re dedicated to perfecting the last‑mile delivery experience through robotics. As a Staff Software Engineer you will own and drive products from design through production, collaborating closely with product managers and junior engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full product lifecycle – design, development, testing, and production deployment.
• Partner with product managers to translate merchant, consumer, and internal stakeholder needs into technical solutions.
• Lead and mentor junior engineers, structuring and managing projects to ensure timely delivery.
• Build and maintain backend services for consumer/merchant products, order ingestion, delivery management, logistics, internal tools, and device infrastructure.

Required profile

• BS in Computer Science or equivalent technical experience.
• 7+ years of professional software development experience.
• Proven experience designing and leading implementation of platform features and services in AWS.
• 3+ years supporting business‑critical services in production.
• Strong SQL fundamentals and experience with message‑queue/pub‑sub frameworks (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
