Specialist Product Support Engineer

About the role

The Specialist Product Support Engineer will join 3M's Industrial Adhesives & Tapes Division, working within a global R&D team to enhance product performance, reliability and competitiveness. You will act as a technical resource for structural and sprayable adhesives, collaborating with cross‑functional teams worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technically complex product support and improvement programs, including change management, reliability, cost improvement and supply continuity.
• Serve as the recognized technical expert for structural and sprayable adhesive families, understanding performance, customer needs and market requirements.
• Provide technical leadership on cross‑functional teams involving R&D, manufacturing, quality, regulatory, supply chain, marketing and product management.
• Drive product improvement projects such as NPI support, CMP execution, design changes, raw‑material substitutions, quality enhancements and lifecycle management.
• Identify and recommend opportunities for product robustness, process‑product alignment and technical differentiation.
• Influence technical decisions with data‑based recommendations on design, testing, manufacturing readiness, risk mitigation and product safety.
• Establish and maintain global networks across technical, manufacturing, quality, regulatory and business teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Materials/Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering or Chemistry.
• At least seven years of experience in product engineering, process engineering or project engineering.
