Electro‑Mechanical Engineer – Product Development

About the role

Join 3M as an Electro‑Mechanical Engineer to support the development and lifecycle of powered and supplied‑air respiratory systems. You will work with global teams to drive product innovation, safety, and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Support product lifecycle management, change management, and product support for electromechanical respiratory systems.
• Contribute to product design, technology development, and continuous‑improvement initiatives that enhance safety, quality, and reliability.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to execute verification, validation, qualification, and manufacturing‑readiness activities.
• Identify and implement product and process improvements to boost customer experience and operational efficiency.
• Provide technical support to global R&D, quality, regulatory, manufacturing, and business teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Biomedical, Electrical, Mechatronics engineering or related field (completed before start).
• At least three years of experience in research & development, product development, design engineering, testing, or related functions.
• Experience with respiratory protection, personal safety products, medical devices, or other regulated products is a plus.
• Familiarity with NPI, product lifecycle management, sustaining engineering, DFMEA, risk assessment, root‑cause analysis, and statistical analysis.
• Proven ability to work on cross‑functional engineering projects from concept through commercialization.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and project‑management skills for global collaboration.
