Solutions Architect – Pacific Northwest

About the role

As an Enterprise Solutions Architect at ClickHouse, you will own the technical side of the sales cycle for enterprise accounts in the Pacific Northwest. You will work with data platform engineers, architects, SRE teams and senior executives to design and validate production‑scale solutions that replace incumbent technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical evaluations from discovery through POC, architecture sign‑off, security review and first production workload.
• Design scalable architectures, including sizing, sharding, replication, ingestion topology, tiered storage and cost modeling.
• Run competitive displacements against Elasticsearch, Splunk, Snowflake, BigQuery, Druid, Pinot and home‑grown systems using customer‑owned benchmarks.
• Develop migration plans covering sequencing, dual‑run, validation and cut‑over.
• Clear security and procurement hurdles by providing compliance artifacts and network/identity designs.
• Partner with Enterprise Account Executives to close opportunities and build TCO cases.

Required profile

• Deep technical foundation in data infrastructure gained as a data engineer, platform engineer, DBA or solutions architect.
• Hands‑on experience operating analytical databases at scale.
• Strong judgment in distributed systems – partitioning, replication, consistency and failure handling.
• Customer‑facing experience in pre‑sales, consulting or technical account management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, able to discuss details with engineers and present to VPs.
