AI Research Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an AI Research Engineer to join our Foundational Models AI team in Seattle. The role bridges cutting‑edge machine‑learning research with software engineering, turning novel ideas into prototypes that advance autonomous systems and human‑robot interaction.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and iterate on experimental ML pipelines for foundational model development.
• Implement and train large‑scale models, including transformer and diffusion architectures, for generative and control tasks.
• Develop and evaluate reinforcement‑learning algorithms for autonomous behaviours.
• Rapidly prototype research ideas into production‑ready code to accelerate experimentation cycles.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate ML components into real‑world robotic systems.
• Stay current with the latest AI research and disseminate insights internally and externally.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Machine Learning, AI, Computer Science or a related technical field.
• At least 3 years of experience in applied ML research and software engineering.
• US work authorization.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• ML frameworks such as PyTorch, JAX, or TensorFlow.
• Experience training large‑scale models (transformers, diffusion models).
• Strong understanding of reinforcement‑learning fundamentals.
