About the role

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a motivated Software Test Engineer Co‑op to join its RLM software engineering team in Danvers, MA. The role offers hands‑on experience with medical device software testing, using modern automation tools and collaborating with developers and QA professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts with Pytest and other in‑house tools for end‑to‑end testing of medical device software.
• Collaborate with developers and QA team members to design comprehensive test plans and perform both manual and automated testing.
• Identify, document, and track software defects, and work closely with developers to resolve them.
• Participate in code reviews, generate test reports, and provide recommendations for process improvement.

Required profile

• Junior, senior or graduate student pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronics or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with proactive learning attitude.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.

Required skills

• Familiarity with automated test frameworks, specifically Pytest.
• Programming proficiency in at least one language such as C, Rust, Python or JavaScript.
• Understanding of database concepts and experience with SQL‑based databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) or NoSQL databases.
• Experience with version control systems, particularly Git.

What we offer

• Hourly compensation ranging from $23.50 to $52.50 based on program year, discipline and experience.
