Software Engineer – Java

About the role

Disney Entertainment & ESPN Technology is looking for a Java Software Engineer to join the Data Ingestion & Data Store (DIDS) team. You will help build high‑performance, stable, and scalable systems that power Disney’s streaming platforms such as Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Java‑based services for data ingestion and transformation.
• Write clean, well‑tested code and contribute to unit, integration, and performance testing.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and project managers to deliver features that improve user experiences across web, mobile, and living‑room devices.

• Strong problem‑solving abilities and a passion for building reliable data pipelines.
• Experience working in fast‑paced, consumer‑facing product environments.
• Ability to communicate effectively with cross‑functional teams.
