Software Engineer – Computer Vision

About the role

Rivet is seeking a senior Software Engineer to develop computer‑vision and tracking systems for next‑generation AR/XR devices. The role focuses on building perception pipelines, real‑time motion estimation, and equilibrium algorithms for wearable platforms running Android and embedded Linux.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement computer‑vision, tracking, and scene‑understanding pipelines for edge processors such as Qualcomm, Nvidia, and Intel.
• Develop performant real‑time code in C++ and C# and integrate with OpenXR and AR runtimes.
• Optimize latency, tracking fidelity, and synchronization on Android and embedded Linux.
• Create tooling, visualization, and debugging workflows for perception validation.
• Build companion Android applications using Java/Kotlin and prototype models with OpenCV, Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow, and TensorFlow Lite.

Required profile

• Deep experience in computer‑vision, perception, tracking, robotics, or real‑time spatial computing.
• MS with ≥10 years or PhD with ≥5 years of relevant professional experience.
• Strong background in geometry, coordinate systems, and real‑time systems.
• Proven ability to ship complex real‑time or XR capabilities.

Required skills

• C++ and/or C#
• Java/Kotlin for Android services
• Python for scripting and automation
• OpenCV, OpenXR, ARCore, SLAM/VIO pipelines
• TensorFlow, TensorFlow Lite, PyTorch
• Experience with Android, embedded Linux, and edge hardware (Qualcomm, Nvidia, Intel)
• Familiarity with Unity, Unreal Engine or similar 3D/XR engines (preferred)
