Senior Systems Administrator

About the role

We are a growing Managed Services Provider seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to support a diverse portfolio of small and mid‑sized businesses across the New York metropolitan area. The role blends hands‑on technical work with client‑facing responsibilities, offering the chance to lead infrastructure projects and deepen expertise across Microsoft, cloud, and virtualization technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and support Windows Server infrastructure across multiple client environments.
• Administer Microsoft 365, Azure, and Active Directory.
• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot VMware ESXi and Hyper‑V environments.
• Deploy and support networking infrastructure, including switches, firewalls, VPNs, and VLANs.
• Perform end‑to‑end troubleshooting across servers, storage, networking, and cloud platforms.
• Lead infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and system improvement projects.
• Automate repetitive administrative tasks to improve operational efficiency.
• Maintain security best practices, documentation, and change‑management processes.
• Act as a technical escalation point for complex infrastructure issues.

Required profile

• 5+ years of Windows Systems Administration experience.
• 5+ years supporting networking technologies in an enterprise or managed‑services environment.
• 3+ years of Microsoft 365 administration experience.
• 2+ years of hands‑on Microsoft Azure experience.
• Experience with VMware ESXi and/or Hyper‑V.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, NAT, ARP, VLANs, and VPNs.
• Experience configuring and managing firewalls and network switches.
• Excellent communication skills with a customer‑first mindset.
• Proactive attitude and passion for learning new technologies.
