Senior Specialist - Contract Negotiation (Legal Services)

About the role

The Global Business Solutions Center (GBSC) supports Mastercard's business operations, productivity and growth across 89 countries, with its team based mainly in the O'Fallon, Missouri hub. This Senior Specialist, GBS position sits within the Legal Services function alongside contract negotiators, reporting to the Senior Counsel, GBS. It covers end-to-end contract services, with the aim of delivering frictionless customer experiences and efficient business outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Perform end-to-end contract preparation and execution for assigned transactions, from receiving contract requests through signature.
• Triage incoming contract requests to check alignment with business policies, processes and procedures.
• Draft, review, negotiate and finalize routine vendor and commercial contracts, including NDAs, software license agreements, support services and consulting agreements.
• Prepare and revise agreements with business clients and subject matter experts, following approved policies and playbooks.
• Analyze contract terms and conditions to support compliance with laws, regulations and internal policies.
• Deliver customer service meeting GBSC standards for quality, response time, resolution time and service level objectives.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) from an accredited institution plus relevant work experience.
• Juris Doctor or other graduate degree is a plus.
• Knowledge of U.S., Latin American, European, Middle Eastern, African, Asian or other legal systems is a plus.

Required skills

• Strong legal and business acumen, with analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent English communication and interpersonal skills; additional foreign languages are a plus.
• Advanced negotiation skills and the judgment to escalate when needed.
• Ability to manage workloads of varying priority and complexity.
