Senior Software Engineer – Office Apps (C++)

About the role

Bloomberg’s Office Apps team delivers real-time market data, analytics and services directly inside Microsoft Office. As a Senior Software Engineer you will design and implement high-performance C++ components that power Bloomberg Terminal functionality within Excel and other Office applications.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain performance-critical backend services, client-side logic, and developer-facing APIs for Office integration.
• Ensure stability and scalability of Bloomberg Terminal products across Microsoft Office and other productivity tools.
• Collaborate with backend infrastructure teams and product managers to deliver high-performance software solutions.
• Drive code quality through testing, automation, and peer-review processes.

Required profile

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Recent experience with modern C++ development.
• Proven ability to build software for high-performance, multi-threaded environments.
• Strong focus on code quality, including testing, automation, and peer review.
• Effective communication and collaboration with product and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent experience.

• Salary range $160,000 – $240,000 USD per year.
