Senior Robotics Software Engineer

About the role

Charge Robotics is building robots that construct solar farms, accelerating the transition to clean energy. As a Senior Robotics Software Engineer you will work full‑stack on the software that powers our robotic factory installation system and see your code deployed at gigawatt scale.

Key responsibilities

• Architect, build, document, test, and iterate on software for the robotic factory installation system.
• Develop perception, motion‑planning, and controls software enabling reliable operation in unstructured field conditions.
• Contribute low‑level software for robotic systems in factories and delivery vehicles, emphasizing correctness and safety.
• Control industrial automation hardware such as linear actuators, motors, and hydraulic systems.

Required profile

• Experienced Python developer comfortable with a lower‑level language like C++ and real‑time embedded or robotics software.
• Proven ability to write clean, well‑documented, tested code using version control and CI.
• Background in fast‑paced startup environments and willingness to work onsite in the SF Bay Area.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% to solar construction sites and climb into large robots when needed.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
