Senior Roadway Designer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Roadway Designer to lead transportation projects within our growing team. The role combines technical design expertise with client and stakeholder engagement to deliver high‑quality roadway solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design and analyze freeways, interstates, interchanges, urban and rural roadways, and shared‑use trails.
• Prepare studies, reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates for diverse transportation projects.
• Lead client relations, manage stakeholders, and coordinate sub‑consultants.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, technicians, and support staff to ensure successful project delivery.
• Own projects from concept through completion, meeting deadlines and budgets.

Required profile

• Professional Civil Engineering (P.E.) certification.
• 10+ years of experience in roadway design.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Familiarity with WSDOT/ITD plan preparation procedures and standards.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and able to work both independently and in a team.
