Civil Engineer (EIT) – Seattle

About the role

PND Engineers is looking for a motivated Civil Engineer (EIT) to join its Seattle office. The position offers early‑career engineers hands‑on experience on a variety of civil and heavy‑civil infrastructure projects, from initial design through construction.

Key responsibilities

• Perform civil engineering analysis and design for site development, grading, drainage, stormwater, water and utility infrastructure, roads, and waterfront/marine facilities.
• Prepare construction drawings, specifications, calculations, technical memoranda and reports.
• Develop design documents from conceptual and preliminary stages to final construction documents using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Conduct grading, utility, drainage and quantity calculations and analyses.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including structural, geotechnical, coastal, environmental and permitting professionals.
• Participate in field investigations, site assessments, surveys and construction observations.
• Support construction administration by reviewing submittals, RFIs and contractor queries.
• Assist in preparing engineer’s estimates, technical specifications and bid documents.
• Communicate with clients, contractors, agencies and other stakeholders under senior engineer guidance.
• Travel occasionally for site inspections and remote project support.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an ABET‑accredited program.
• Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering exam and EIT certification, or ability to obtain certification shortly after hire.
• Demonstrated interest or experience in civil site design, grading, drainage, utilities, transportation, waterfront or heavy‑civil infrastructure.
• Experience with AutoCAD; Civil 3D strongly preferred.
• Experience developing construction drawings and specifications is a plus.
• Construction, inspection or field engineering experience is advantageous.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
