Senior Project Engineer, Test Equipment

About the role

Moog is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead the design and development of test equipment used for military, commercial and space vehicle products. The role is based onsite in Buffalo, NY and offers the chance to work on complex electromechanical systems within a high‑performance culture.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop hydraulic, electro‑hydraulic, electro‑mechanical, servo‑mechanism and electro‑pneumatic components and systems for test equipment.
• Create new test equipment, assemblies and processes to meet cost, schedule and performance targets.
• Coordinate and lead drafters, technicians, designers, analysts and manufacturing engineers.
• Establish and monitor project budgets and schedules, performing trade studies and analyses.
• Prepare proposal designs, cost estimates and technical documentation.
• Support assembly of test equipment and mentor junior engineers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical or Electrical Engineering.
• 5+ years of engineering experience, including 3 years leading technical projects.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance.
• Proven experience in design, analysis, development and production of complex electromechanical hardware.
• Strong analytical skills and self‑starting attitude.
• Experience with component design, development and verification testing.
• Excellent technical communication and stakeholder management abilities.
