Senior Project Engineer – Space Propulsion

About the role

Moog’s Space and Defense Group is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead technical efforts on recurring production programs and new design initiatives for space propulsion hardware. Based in Niagara Falls, NY, you will work closely with customers, program managers, and cross‑functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the technical lead and primary customer contact for propulsion hardware projects.
• Coordinate designers, drafters, technicians, analysts, and other team members to meet project milestones.
• Partner with the program manager to manage cost, schedule, and quality targets.
• Facilitate communication between program management, quality, and operations groups.
• Travel between Niagara Falls and East Aurora facilities as required by program needs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s (required) or Master’s (preferred) in Mechanical, Aerospace, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering.
• 5+ years of project engineering experience with a proven record of delivering projects.
• At least 3 years leading technical projects or initiatives.
• Strong sense of ownership, self‑starting attitude, and ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication skills with internal and external customers.
